As the flame is extinguished...

Today is the final day of the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Tonight they'll have the closing ceremonies, and the accompanying hoopla, and extinguish the flame for another four years. In one way, I'm sad to see this time come. In another way, I'm happy.

I've spent the past two weeks glued to my television. I've watched skiing, snowboarding, skeleton, luge, bobsled, figure skating, speed skating, curling, biathlon, hockey and just about every other sport I might have missed. Once every four years, I become a big fan of all winter sports. And, it's fun.

But the time has come to get life back to normal and leave the television silent during the daytime. It's time to get back to work.

Now, only two years until the Summer Games. :-)

Have a great day!

Two New Reviews!

JERR gave Sweet Charity a 5 star review.

Here's a snippet of what reviewer, L.T. Blue had to say:

"The story is very fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. The sexual heat between Adrian and Charity is explosive and rather than fade out, the flames continue to build."

The Romance Studio gave Alexandra's Legacy a 4 1/2 heart review.

Here's what reviewer, Lisa Freeman, had to say"

"What an awesome story! The characters really drive the plot forward and the author does a great job building their personalities while engaging your attention. Alex was a great heroine, gentle and sweet yet smart enough and strong enough to be capable of fulfilling her legacy. Joshua also was a powerful hero, torn between his duty to his pack and his increasing attraction to Alex. Intense sexual tension builds throughout the story. The complexity of the werewolf and their pack laws are very evident in how this story plays out and you will be amazed at how strong and loyal Joshua can be to himself as well as Alex and his pack."

Anastasia's Style is a hot Quickie that is now on sale for only $2.24.

BLURB:

Anastasia Style, owner of Hassle-free Holidays, is having anything but a hassle-free Valentine's Day. Her normally reliable car has a flat and she has a delivery to make for a last minute, lucrative client. And if that wasn't enough to make a woman crazy, she still has to make it to her lawyer's office in time to sign her divorce papers.

She just has to set the stage for her client's romantic evening and then she's off to her lawyer's office to officially end her marriage to Mason Style. Except her client has other ideas about how Anastasia will be spending her evening, and he has no intention of ever letting her go.

Amethyst Moon is a fantasy/menage a trois novella that you can check out for only $4.00.

BLURB:

Archaeologist Olivia Fifield has spent her entire life trying to live down the legacy of her grandfather and his theories on a lost civilization. Her only link to this place is a set of amethyst bracelets that he left her when he died.

Now she is on the archeological dig of her life and has a chance not only to clear her grandfather's name, but to make her own reputation as well. But there are some who don't want her to succeed.

What she uncovers is not a lost civilization, but a totally different world. The amethyst bracelets are the keys that transport her there and into the arms of Tor and Dak, two warriors of T'ar Tal. But the future is anything but certain and only Olivia can decide the fate of them all.

Pancakes Anyone?

Today is Shrove Tuesday, which means it is also Pancake Day!

Why pancakes? Well, Shrove Tuesday is the last day before Ash Wednesday, which begins the forty day period of Lent in the Christian religion--a period of fasting and prayer. Traditionally, that meant giving up such rich foods as sugar, eggs, milk and butter. These ingredients are perfect for making pancakes, so many families would use up what they had of these foods by making pancakes.

You can check out Wikipedia for more information.

Enjoy your pancakes. :-)

Other than that, we watched some of the Olympic events on television and spent time together. The perfect way to spend the weekend.

I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done this week. Wish me luck. :-)

5 Angels for Sweet Charity

Fallen Angel Reviews has given Sweet Charity a 5 Angel Review!

Here's a snippet of what the reviewer had to say:

"With Sweet Charity, the third and final book in her Project Alpha series, N. J. Walters has once again produced a wonderful story of love, courage and devotion. Arguably the best of all three books, Sweet Charity is a thrilling page turner with more breathless passion than the first two books put together."

New Print Book!

Jamesville Affairs is now available from Samhain Publishing. This two-story print anthology contains the ebooks A Legal Affair and Past Promises, both part of the Jamesville series.

A Legal Affair

It’s not easy for Alicia Flint to even date, much less take a lover. As a lawyer, her livelihood depends on her spotless reputation. A chance encounter with a stranger at a friend’s wedding tempts her to do something she’s never done before—have a red-hot, one-night stand. The guy will be gone tomorrow; no one need ever know her delicious little secret. The only problem is that Gill Baron is in Jamesville to stay.

Past Promises

Linda Fletcher’s newly opened antiques business is her declaration of independence from her powerful and manipulative family. She’s never considered herself the no-strings-affair type, but the chemistry between her and her newly hired handyman, Levi Mann, is too intense to ignore. Moving to Jamesville was a bold step, so what’s the harm in taking one more—into his arms?

Newsletter and New Contest!

It's that time of the month again--Newsletter time! Starting with this issue, I'm changing my newsletter from once a month to once every two months. It was challenging to put out a full newsletter every month and this works much better for me...and hubby.

If you’re not already receiving Awakening Desires—the Newsletter of Romance Author N.J. Walters—then you’re missing out on all the latest news, author interviews, excerpts and tons more!

The February/March 2010 issue is now available!

Check out the this month’s author interview with Dana Marie Bell, as well as an excerpt from my Valentine book--Anastasia's Style. If you've never read this Ellora's Cave Quickie before, it's a great month to give it a try. The ever popular column by my hubby, Confessions of a Romance Author's Husband, is there as always. Hope you enjoy it.
