Halloween Candy--What's your favorite?

It's the time of year for that all-important question--What is your favorite Halloween candy? For me, it's candy corn. No contest!

According to Wikipedia, Candy Corn was created in the 1880's by a man named George Renninger.

Some more facts:

~20 million pounds (over 9000 tons) of candy corn are sold annually.
~Each piece is approximately three times the size of a whole kernel from a ripe or dried ear.
~Candy corn pieces are traditionally cast in three colors: a broad yellow end, a tapered orange center, and a pointed white tip.

There are recipes online that tell you how you can make your own candy corn. Me, I'd rather just buy it. :)

What's your favorite Halloween Candy?

Love in Flames Available Today!

Love in Flames, the third and final book in the Spells, Secrets and Seductions trilogy, is available today from Samhain Publishing! Each book can be read as a stand-alone read, but they all are connected through three good friends--Esther, Rhiannon and Maggie--and a candle magick spell they cast one night.

A love to last a lifetime…or a dream turned to ash?

Spells, Secrets and Seductions, Book 3

When Esther goes along with her friend’s candle-magick spell, it’s not because she wants a lover. But a good old-fashioned one-night stand could be just what she needs to get her mind off Ryan Jameson. Having lost her father in the line of duty, she has no plans to lose her heart to a firefighter.

Not that Ryan doesn’t heat up her nightly dreams. Those erotic fantasies invariably end in deadly flames—a still-smoking echo of her ancestral namesake, whose wedding day ended in the fiery loss of her husband. A man whose dying breath was a promise to one day find his beloved.

All his life, Ryan’s dreams have taken him backward in time. As he matured, so did those dreams—erotic fantasies of a woman he loves but has yet to meet. Then he finds her in Burnt Cove. But she’s not only holding him at arm’s length, she refuses to acknowledge their time-proof bond.

On a magical Samhain night, undeniable desire is stronger than the walls around her heart. But time has one last test for them—one that will meld them into one, or drive them apart forever.

Product Warnings: This book contains a simple candle-magick spell, a hunky fireman, past lives, lost lovers and enough heat to start a bonfire.

Be sure to check out books 1 & 2--A Touch of Magick and Dreams of Seduction.

BLURB: Christina's Taptestry
First in the Tapestries series

Christina Beaumont impulsively buys an expensive tapestry that she sees in a shop window, having no idea how that one action will change her life. The magical tapestry not only transports her to Javara, a world that resembles medieval Earth, but also into the arms of two massive warriors who both want to claim her.

Jarek and Marc, Brothers of the House of Garen, are elated to discover the tapestry has delivered Christina to them. Women are scarce in their world, so the men of a family must compete for the right to be her husband. But before she can choose, Christina first has to experience the lovemaking of both brothers, separately and together. Jarek and Marc use all their considerable sexual skills to pleasure her in ways she's never imagined.

But the tapestry also offers another choice. Christina could return to her own world. Jarek and Marc join forces to convince Christina to stay with them even as they fight a rival family for the right to keep her as their very own

Christmas Craft Fair

I know, I may be far too early for many of you, but hubby and I went to the first Holiday Craft Fair of the season yesterday. What can I say? I loved it!

The entire stadium was filled with rows of vendors selling everything from homemade sewn goods, stained glass, books, food, to costume jewelry. My favorites are always the artists who make their wares and the local book vendors. I especially enjoyed the fudge lady. She makes the best fudge and I have it once a year at this show. I bought a small amount of the chocolate amaretto, chocolate vanilla swirl and the cookie dough fudge. YUM!

I also purchase a set of 4 holiday placemats that can be used at Christmas and throughout the winter if I want. They're machine washable and were only $20. (If I remember, I'll post a picture of them.) I also found a lovely handpainted wooden ornament to send away to a friend for a gift.

That's part of my plan to help the local economy this year--buy from independent stores and craftspeople as much as possible. Sure, I'll have to hit the big stores at some point, but if at least 30% of my gifts come from small business, I'm helping them survive the economic downturn.

Either way, I'll be hitting the next Christmas Craft Fair in three weeks time. :)

I ain't afraid of no ghosts...

I was just over at Nina Pierce's Blog and she's talking about ghosts and things that go bump in the night.

Now I've lived in a caretaker's house in a cemetary. Yes, I did say in a cemetary. There were headstones and graves on three sides of the house and the road on the front side. Never had a problem there.

It was quiet and peaceful. It was the place I moved after that where I had problems. All three of us living there had things happen but we all kept it to ourselves for weeks until it finaly came out. We were all between the ages of 18 to 20 and didn't want to believe the basement apartment we were living in was haunted. But it was. Of that, I have no doubt. It wasn't a pleasant experience and we soon moved.

Thankfully, the years since have been quiet.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Night Owl Top Pick for Lady's Minstrel

Lady's Minstrel has received 4.5 Stars and Night Owl Top Pick Award!

"Although a short story, this is a wonderfully moving and erotic read. The characters are surprisingly well developed for the length of the story. Flashbacks are used to concisely explain the past so that the story can continue with the present. Alicia and Reys are truly incredible people and I really felt for both of them. Besides being emotional, this is also a very sensual and sexy read. It's the perfect story for rainy Sunday afternoon. It will leave you smiling."
