New Contract!!!!!!!

I just got word from my amazing Samhain editor, Jessica Bimberg, that Samhain Publishing is contracting the next book in my Jamesville series! YAY!

Book 3: THE RETURN OF PATRICK O'ROURKE keeps the same small-town feel of the other two books in the series, but the HEAT factor is much higher.

You may remember Patrick O'Rourke as an eighteen-year old in the first book in the series, DISCOVERING DANI. Well, Patrick has been living in New York for the past decade and working as a detective with the NYPD.

When he is injured in the line of duty, he returns home to Jamesville to recover. He doesn't know if his physical injuries will keep him from returning to the job he loves in New York. As if that wasn't enough, he finds himself attracted to a woman who has problems of her own. He has no intention of getting involved...or so he tells himself.

I'm really looking forward to the release of this book. I honestly think it's my best work to date. I can't wait to find out what everyone else thinks of it too.

I'll keep you posted on a release date. As soon as I know something, I'll shout it from the rooftop.

Sunday Afternoon at the Movies!

So hubby and I were at the movies this afternoon. Actually, we go to a lot of afternoon movies. It's one of our favorite things to do.

I love it when the theatre isn't very full. We like to sit a few rows back from the front, eat M & M's and enjoy the movie. I really only eat the blue and red M & M's and maybe the occasional purple or pink one and hubby eats the other colors. LOL

Today we saw INVINCIBLE with Mark Wahlberg and Greg Kinnear and I really enjoyed it. I didn't really have any expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was a real flash back to the 1970's in spots, which was fun. What can I say...I like movies where the underdog does good. It's a reminder to never give up on your dreams. Even if you try and fail, at least you have the satisfaction of always knowing that you gave it a shot.

I guess I feel that way about my writing. It took me a lot of years to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, but now that I know and have had a taste of success, there is no going back. I have no idea what the future holds, but I'll always have the satisfaction of actually publishing.

Don't give up on your dreams. After all, that's what makes life interesting!

What I've Been Reading!

I haven't done much reading lately, but I have managed to get in a few really great books. Two of them are by long-time favorite authors--Suzanne Brockmann and Linda Howard.

Into the Storm is Suzanne Brockmann at her best. She's a master at writing miliary fiction. This time she's joined the memebers of SEAL Team Sixteen and Troubleshooters Inc. together for an unforgetable adventure. This book will please any Brockmann fan.

Cover of Night is a bit different for Linda Howard. I find that she is always challenging herself as a writer and doing something unique. Suspenseful and fast-paced, this book was an absolute pleasure to read. Linda Howard just seems to keep getting better. I really enjoyed this one.

Now for something a little different...If you're looking for an erotic shapeshifter novel then Enforcer, by Lauren Dane, is the one for you. Because it's put out by Ellora's Cave you know it's going to be HOT! But it is also a fantastic werewolf tale.

Lauren Dane is an amazingly talented writer who is definitely going places. Do yourself a favor and check out one of her many books. I haven't been disappointed by anything of hers that I've read!

I recently tried a new author--Maya Banks--and I have to say that I absolutely loved her book, Seducing Simon, released by Samahin Publishing. The plot may sound familiar, but believe me, this books is unique. The relationships between the various characters are what drives this book. And the main relationship is loving and absolutely incredible. I laughed. I cried. What more could you ask of a great book.

Last, but certainly not least, is The Gripping Beast by Charlene Teglia. Also published by Samhain Publishing, this is a time-travel adventure that takes the reader from present day to the time of the Vikings.

Teglia is an incredible story-teller, seemlessly weaving a steamy love story that will make you laugh and cheer. The characters are memorable and the story will leave you wanting more. This is another author who is definitely going places. Each book I read of hers keeps getting better and better.

Anyway, these are just a few of the books that I've managed to read in the past while. You might want to check them out!

Questions? Questions? Questions?

Blogging is new to me and, although I'm enjoying it so far, I would like to hear what you think. I'd like my blog to be a place where I can express my views on life and daily happenings. But, I'd also like it to be a place where readers can find out more about me and my work.

As readers, are there any questions you'd like answered? Are there things about writing or about any of my books that you have questions about?

If there are, just click on the comments section and ask them. I'll do my best to answer them in future posts.

Until then, I'll just keep on the way I'm going. :-)

Stefan's Salvation Cover!

Woohoo! Looks like Blogger fixed whatever was wrong and I'm now able to post my picture directly. I thought that my cover for Stefan's Salvation deserved a slightly bigger look than I was able to give you before.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love this cover. Thanks to Syneca at the Ellora's Cave Art Department. That woman is a genius.

Where have the years gone?

Tomorrow is my nineteenth wedding anniversary. Where have the years gone? LOL

It almost seems impossible that we've been married that long, let alone been together for twenty-three years. The nice thing is that I'd marry him again tomorrow.

I'm lucky to have married a man I not only love with all my heart, but one who is my best friend. He makes me laugh, holds me when I want to cry and makes me feel as if I'm the most beautiful woman in the world. We've had our share of challenges in our married life, but we've always faced them together.

My husband is my biggest fan. He believed in my writing long before I did. He's never too busy to read my writing or to offer helpful suggestions. He's the one who makes sure that my website gets updated. I dictate what I want to say, but html code is all Greek to me.

Nineteen years have gone by in but a moment of time. I don't know what the next nineteen have in store, but if it's anything like the first nineteen, then we're in for a heck of a ride.

Friday!

Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to Friday! It's an absolutely beautiful day today. The sun is shining, but there is a hint of autumn in the air. I was out shopping earlier today and there were tons of harried-looking parents with kids in tow all trying to get there last minute back-to-school shopping done.

When I was a kid, I actually loved this part of having to go back to school. Not the actual school part, mind you, but the new pencils and pens and binders and exercise books. LOL Yes, that was back before computers, when one actually had to write their homework and teachers still taught penmanship. I remember spending hours actually learning how to form all the letters of the alphabet properly, both upper and lowercase letters. My grade two teacher would actually take the time to line all our exercise books out in red and then have several practice letters that she put in there herself. It made it easier to learn. Now, I think about how much work that must have been for her. She was obviously a very dedicated and amazing teacher.

Maybe the fact that I loved all those shiny new exercise books was an early sign that I was destined to do something for a living that involved writing or books. It has taken me a lot of years to get here, but I'm finally doing it and I wouldn't change it for the world.

On that note, I want to mention a lovely 5 Heart review that I recieved today from Danny at Love Romances. It was for my latest Samhain Publishing release, The Way Home, book 2 in my Jamesville series. This is a snippet of what she had to say.

"This story will captivate you from the beginning till the end! THE WAY HOME is the sequel to DISCOVERING DANI. Although you can read this book as a stand-alone, this reviewer would also recommend reading the prequel."

Thank you, Danny! The review put a smile on my face and started out my weekend on a wonderful note.

I hope all everyone has a wonderful weekend. The summer is waning. Do something fun. After all, autumn is just around the corner.

Coming October 18th!

He appears! Isn't it a beautiful cover! Syneca (Ellora's Cave's resident artistic queen) is responsible for this masterpiece. I always love her work. Thanks, Jenn and Lauren for all your help. I'm still working the bugs out of the system, but I'm making progress. Between the two of you, I managed to figure something out for now. Tomorrow is another day.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Another day...another problem.

For some reason I can't get any pictures to show up on my blog. I've followed the instructions, which are actually quite easy, but no picture. I'm not sure if it's me or the template I've chosen or some little thing I should be doing that I'm not. I'll be working on it for a while and if I can't get it to work, I may switch and try another template. Bear with me. This is an education. LOL

I really want to post my cover to Stefan's Salvation here.

In The Beginning

I've finally done it! I've joined the 21st century and created a blog for myself. Anyone who knows me, knows how techonologically impaired that I am. This has been a challenge, but a whole ton of fun.

I wasn't quite sure what I'd blog about today, other than the fact that I'm proud as heck at figuring out how to add links to my sidebar. LOL Really, it's the little things that amuse me.

Then I had an email from my editor over at Ellora's Cave Publishing. I don't think that many of you know that my original editor had to leave EC for personal reasons and I spent several months editorless. Then I was lucky enough to get a fantastic new editor named Mary. Things have been moving along and for all of you who have been waiting...Dalakis Passion, Book 3 is coming!

That's right! Mark your calendars. STEFAN'S SALVATION is being released on October 18th! Just in time for Halloween. To say I'm excited is an understatement!
