Operation Auction Begins Today!

Fatin Soufan has been an integral part of the romance community for years – she owns and runs the RR@H Novel Thoughts and Book Talk blog, is an administrator of the WriteMinded loop, an author assistant and a tireless advocate for romance novels. She is also a friend to many in this community.

On Tuesday, March 8th, she lost her husband in a senseless act of violence, leaving her alone with four children. You can read more about the tragedy here: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/9233067/

The romance community is rallying around her to raise money for her and her family. Operation Auction
is now live on eBay. Many authors, editors and others have donated items for this auction.

And another great review...

Claudette over at Romance Junkies gave Tracking Talia a 4 Blue Ribbons review.

"As usual, Ms. Walters makes you care about the characters and draws you into their emotions. A great novella."

A great review for Tracking Talia

Wendy Mitchell over at The Romance Studio gave Tracking Talia a 4 Heart review.

"I thought this was a perfect example of what a contemporary erotic romance should be. It was graphically sensual while retaining an emotional elegance that is lacking in many short erotic stories."

Supermoon!

Be sure and look out your window Saturday night. The moon will be full, but it's not just any full moon, it's a Supermoon or a "perigee moon". The moon will be closer to the earth than it's been in almost twenty years. That will make it appear much larger in the night sky.

I hope the clouds and rain stay away tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! If your not Irish, pretend for today that you are and celebrate!

Irish Quote:

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

Book of the Week--Stealing Coal

Welcome to Book of the Week Wednesday! I thought I'd start taking one day a week to mention some of the books I've recently read and enjoyed. The first book is Stealing Coal by Laurann Dohner. This is the 5th book in her Cyborg Seduction series. If you love hot futuristics than this is the series for you. Check out Coal's book!

BLURB:

Book 5 in the Cyborg Seduction series.

Jill has learned the hard way that men can’t be trusted and sex only causes pain. In the lawlessness of space, women are a sexual commodity—to be used and abused. She’s doing a man’s job, with only her father’s brutal reputation and three androids to help keep her alive when she sees a massive, handsome cyborg chained to a freight table. The abusive crew plans to sell him to fight in gruesome death matches. It’s stupid, it’s insane, but Jill can’t leave him to such a horrible fate.

Coal has survived being a captive breeding slave and irreversible damage to his cyborg implants, but his honor is still intact. He’s grateful Jill saved him and he’ll repay her the only way he can. He’ll fix her—with his mouth, his hands and his body. He can teach the little human just how much pleasure she’s capable of feeling.

4.5 Nymphs for Tracking Talia

Literary Nymphs Reviews has given Tracking Talia 4.5 Nymphs.

Here's a snippet of what the reviewer had to say:

"I fell for Marshall Courage immediately; his tough, loner exterior hooking me in and his tender heart keeping me there, throughout his battle of wills with Talia. I was surprised at how quickly I got behind their relationship and wanted them to be together before I really even knew anything about their history...Tracking Talia had just the right amount of drama, tension, frustration and passion to keep me hooked."

Pancakes Anyone?

Some people know today as Shrove Tuesday. Others as Fat Tuesday. But in my house it is known as Pancake Day!

Shrove Tuesday is the day that comes before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, a religious holiday for Christians that includes fasting and prayer. So it became tradition to use up the rich, perishable food before the fasting began. That included using up sugar, eggs, milk and butter. And what's one of the best things to make out of those ingredients--pancakes!
Guess what I'm having for dinner tonight?

Read an Ebook Week--March 6-12

Welcome to Read An E-book Week! It's amazing how much the world of books has changed in such a short span of time. Although the E-book has been around for a lot longer than most folks think, the phenomena has really taken off over the past few years. The publishing industry started to change about ten years ago with the onset of the first on-line publishers and they haven't looked back since.

I discovered ebooks back in 2004 and began publishing with Ellora's Cave and, later, Samhain Publishing. E-book publishers opened the doors of the publishing world for many wonderful writers and has allowed readers to access all kinds of books that might otherwise never have seen the light of day. Traditonal publishers only have a limited amount of slots to fill each year, while online publishers have no limit. Tradional publishers sometimes won't try new genres simply because they don't know how to market them or they don't fit within their publishing parameters. Online publishers can more easily try new authors and genres. With the rising popularity of the Kindle (thank you Oprah), the Sony Reader, the Ipad, and various other electronic reading devices, the E-book is here to stay.

Onlike a lot of folks, I don't think this has to mean the end of the traditional print book. I love reading both. I have a Sony reader as well as bookshelves filled with books. Readers love books...in every form.

So here's to the E-book! If you haven't tried one yet, maybe it's time you did.

A Touch of Magick...Joyfully Reviewed!

Jo at Joyfully Reviewed has reviewed my latest Samhain release--A Touch of Magick.

Here's a snippet of what Jo has to say:

"The instant passion between the Rhiannon and Ryland was almost enough to have me reaching for a cold glass of water. I loved how, knowing she might be risking everything; Rhiannon told Ryland the truth about herself and took steps to counter what might not be true. Watching Ryland reaching out to come to grips with Rhiannon, and what she meant to him, had me turning pages even faster. Their ending was exactly what I hoped for. A Touch of Magick is erotic and a bit suspenseful, with a touch of humor, all wrapped up in a story that will make you dream of magic."

Today is the birthday of one of the most beloved authors of all times--Theodore Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss.
*
I don't know if there are many kids who haven't been exposed to his genius. His stories make you laugh. They help your imagination take flight. And most of all, they make reading fun.
*
The very first book I learned to read on my own was One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. I can still remember that sense of accomplishment. It set me on my lifelong love affair with reading.
*
So thank you Dr. Seuss from the bottom of my heart.
