NAUGHTY HEROES: IN AND OUT OF UNIFORM IS OUT TODAY!

Naughty Heroes: In and Out of Uniform releases TODAY! It's still only 99-cents so grab it before the price goes up!

It includes my novella MARINE ON A MISSION.

NAUGHTY HEROES: In And Out Of Uniform
A collection of UNFORGETTABLE HEROES

Written by the Naughty Literati™
N.J. Walters, Nicole Austin, Belle Scarlett, Katherine Kingston, and Elizabeth Lapthorne.

MARINE ON A MISSION
N.J. Walters

When Mitch McCoy left rural Kentucky to join the U.S. Marines he never thought he'd return. Now he's undercover with a state drug task force. He's not only facing his past, but also Sara Hawkins, the woman who broke his heart. This investigation will risk their lives and their hearts.

SEX BOMB
Nicole Austin

From first sight I knew Marine Lieutenant Harlie Savage wasn't fragile like a flower—she was fragile like a bomb. Definitely not some princess who needed to be saved, either. She was a queen who only lacked a sword, and I vowed to be her weapon.

HER SOLDIER OF FORTUNE
Belle Scarlett

Leia has no idea who ex-Marine Major Tate McIntyre is when he saves her life in a dark alley. Yet Tate's certain Leia is his to have, hold, and protect. He vows to keep her safe at any cost. His only price is her heart. Semper Fi!

THE NIGHT WATCHMAN
Katherine Kingston

A disabled vet rescues a woman on a mission to collect evidence, saving her from the men chasing her. As Jace and Shannon race to survive and outwit a traitor, a deep connection grows between them. But staying alive long enough to explore the attraction will take everything they've got.

MILITARY BLUES
Elizabeth Lapthorne

Luke is struggling to recover from a career shattering IED blast that sees him permanently discharged. Milly's career self-destructed and she's moved cities in the hopes of starting again. Can this new life and new relationship be a second chance for them both?

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Happy December 24th!

A Visit from St. Nicholas
by Clement Clarke Moore (1822)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On Cupid! On, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

2019 Year in Review

As the year comes to an end, I want to thank all my readers and friends for your continued support. Not only for the past year, but the past decade. Strange to think another decade is ending.

The past ten years have been filled with great change and many endings, both in my personal and professional life. I won’t lie, it’s been a struggle at times, but I’m still standing, for which I am very grateful. I’ve had ups and downs, hit some milestones, and done things I’d never dreamed I’d do.

This past year was an exciting and busy one, filled with 7 new releases and 8 rereleases.

January 18—Threads of Destiny, Tapestries book 4 (rerelease)
March 20—Embroidered Fantasies, Tapestries book 5 (rerelease)
April 30—Stranded: A Boys Behaving Badly Anthology (NEW)
May 10—Rescuing Rory, Marks Mercenaries book 1 (rerelease)
May 15—Fabric of Fate, Tapestries book 6 (rerelease)

Weekend Book Club--Tuffy Claus by Linda Mooney

TUFFY CLAUS by Linda Mooney is not your ordinary Christmas novella. Santa has a brother named Dominik who drives a red Harley, wields a sledgehammer, and is anything but a saint. This is a sweet holiday read. I really enjoyed it!

BLURB:

It’s another night on the job for Deputy Sheriff Barbara Mero, giving chase to a suspect in a stolen vehicle. But when someone beats her to the perp, she’s not sure whether to step in or not. Before she can stop him, a sledgehammer-wielding bearded biker on a red Harley delivers his own punishment, but with his parting words, Babs isn’t so sure he’s another bad guy.

After further investigation, Babs knows this vigilante “Santa” meant well, but there’s no proof he was even there. And after a few more run-ins with the red-cloaked badass, she’s torn between duty and justice, but in her heart she knows he’s the real deal.

You see, there’s a side of the story of Santa that doesn’t get told, and that’s where Dominik comes in. Being the twin to Kris, Dom’s job isn’t near as merry, though still necessary, answering the letters from the kids who want more than just toys. Those who want a better, safer life, food, and shelter. Basic needs a kid shouldn’t have to wish for on Christmas. Alhough he’s accepted his own lot in life, Dominik still has one regret. It’s a lonely life.

There’s another side to jolly old Saint Nick, and he ain’t a saint.

Ghostbuster 3: Afterlife Trailer

 OMG! I can't wait!!!!

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost

This is one of my favorite poems.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

New Review for RESCUE ME

Marienela Reviews has this to say about RESCUE ME.

"This is a novella, but N. J. Walters truly knows her craft. In this very short and sweet novella, she also included some police procedural that added excitement to the already hot and steamy scenes. (Pun intended)." ~Mari Davis

Long and Short Reviews--Salvaging Abby

Long and Short Reviews has this to say about Salvaging Abby:

"I loved how the characters evolved through the story. Truly, I loved it. (...) I enjoyed reading this book and I recommend reading the others in the series as they are just as well-written. This is a wonderful love story that shows that although you can be strong, having a soft place to land is wonderful. It also shows family is everything." ~Dryas

Lest We Forget...

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

~John McCrae
