A Taste of Summer

Early February and there is snow and ice and cold outside my window. I'm tired of winter. I decided what I needed was a taste of summer. Luck for me, my mother gave me a bunch of blueberries last summer that she picked in her garden. We ate some, but I froze several containers full.

Yesterday, I took some of the blueberries out of the freezer and made a blueberry cake. Taking that first bite for dessert was heavenly. And best of all, there is plenty of cake left for a few more days.

Treat yourself to a taste of summer. It will help drive back the winter blahs.

I happen to love winter. It's my favorite season. But my favorite summer treat is peaches. I just love peaches. It's my favorite fruit. Fresh whole peaches, peach pie, peach cobbler, and I even use peach scented soap, shampoo, lotion and perfume. I just really like peach.

I love blueberries! What a wonderful idea! I believe I'll go make a blueberry cake, too. Have a good week!

Fresh peaches are yummy, Kathy. I've never had a peach pie or a peach cobbler. They sound delicious. Unfortunately, I can't use scented lotions or perfumes. I bet you always smell wonderful. :-)

You should make a blueberry cake or something equally as yummy, Anny. You enjoy your week too.

Ohhh, blueberries! My mom used to make the best blueberry buckle! Now I'm going to have to go rustle up some berries and bake something... *sigh*

I'm very tired of winter, too, NJ. Even my hubby, who hardly complains about anything, was grumbling yesterday.

I have no idea what a blueberry buckle is, but it sounds tasty.

I'm with your hubby. It's been a long, cold winter so far.

It is, Charli. Nothing like some fresh blueberries in the dead of winter. I still have one container left in the freezer. I'm going to save it for a desperate day in March. *g*
