Cocktales Pub Crawl--Mari Carr is Here!

Welcome to the fourth stop in the Cocktales Pub Crawl. I can’t lie. I’m a huge NJ Walters fan, so when I asked if we could crawl over and she said “Sure, stop on by,” I got super excited—in a fan girl kind of way. NJ’s latest release from Samhain, Quinn’s Quest, involves a werewolf. Um…yum. So…today’s drink was selected with just that particular shapeshifter in mind.

For this fourth round, let’s try a Werewolf. Remember to write down that drink title to be entered in the grand prize drawing. Details about the crawl can be found on my website (http://www.maricarr.com/).

1 part Drambuie
1 part Jack Daniels (hell yeah!)

Serve in a lowball glass.

This week’s pub crawl is being held to celebrate the release of Screwdriver next Tuesday, March 20. It’s is available for preorder at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The Cocktales books are about four friends who own a combination bar/bookstore in Portland called Books and Brew (this is my DREAM business). Each woman runs a different aspect of the business—bartender, bookkeeper/office manager, the marketing/events coordinator, and the bookstore gal. Today, I thought I’d share the blurb to Screwdriver with you.

Cocktales, Book Two

When Jordan Lance isn’t pouring over spreadsheets for Books and Brew, she’s
fantasizing about the store’s landlord. Too bad she’s squarely in Gabriel’s
“just friends” column. Jordan’s prepared to pine forever—until she meets Casey. The handyman is hot, handsome, charming…and Gabriel’s best friend. Suddenly her wicked fantasies are porntastic times two.

Casey has suspected his friend’s interest in Jordan. If he can push them together, he might get Gabriel off the bimbo train he’s been riding. The plan? Jealousy. And it’s working. It’s not long before Gabriel’s deeper feelings for Jordan emerge. Problem is…so do Casey’s. What happens when two friends want the same woman? Red-hot ménage, baby.

Two gorgeous men playing every inch of her body? Um, yes please! Jordan doesn’t
know if threesomes are considered acceptable, but she’s sure of one thing—being
this bad feels far too good.

Now how about a little contest? Leave a comment here on NJ’s blog by 6 a.m. (EST
tomorrow, March 16) and one winner will receive a $5 gift card to Amazon or Barnes and Noble (winner’s choice). The question is easy. What’s your favorite
shapeshifter/paranormal creature? Werewolves, vampires, and zombies, oh my!

Definitely shifters for me! I love them all but I lean more towards the big cat shifters. Tigers, panthers, jaguars, oh my!

I love shifters. My favorites have always been the big cats. I would choose werewolves of the three choices given.

Definitly a shifter type person, I've been getting into the series Grimm. I'd say one of my favorite shifters is a Werewolf.

Ummm...that's a bit of a toss up with me. While I am def a Wolf girl, my true fave are Dragons. Something so magical, powerful, sensual about a man who can shift to a beautiful dragon and carry me off into the wind. I must have some medieval floating in my blood. :)

I am a huge fan of vampires. I also like shifters. They both make for hot stories. That werewolf drink sounds yummy.

Yes I going with the werewolves. Probably because they really are a beautiful animal to start with. And when they shift in the books I've read. Oh MY.

I think the shifters, though I've never tried a "Werewolf" ;) (Not much of a drinker--what's a low-ball glass? ;p And if I ever get to meet either of you in person, NJ and Mari, you know I'd be either dumbstruck or squealing like you wouldn't believe ;)

If you had asked me this question 10 years ago, my answer would have been vampires, hands down.

Now, I've read so many books about other shifters and paranormal creatures, my answer has changed! Now I'm into bird shapeshifters.

Thanks,

I love shifters, especially wolves and dragons, even foxes and bears. Not a big fan of zombies. I figure they'll eat my brains and I need those.
Thanks for the pub crawl. I'm having a lot of fun and getting a lot of drink recipes.

I love the idea of the book Mari, but I don't know about the werewolf. I'd rather have a screwdriver :D Especially if that excerpt is a taste of what it will be like.

Hello Mari & N.J.,

Thank you N.J.for hosting Mari on your Blog for her Cocktales Pub Crawl, this has been alot of fun...& thank you Mari for bringing Us to these Great Author's Blogs.
As for your question...What’s my favorite
shapeshifter/paranormal creature? Werewolves, vampires, and zombies. I figure from my name, you guessed it...I LOVE Paranormal Fiction. :) LOL Oh this is such a difficult question because I love them all; Vampires, Werewolves, Shape-Shifters, Dragons, Demons, Incubus, Mermen, Satyr, Elves, Faeries, Ghosts, Witches, Warlocks, Zombies...LOL But since I have to pick just one, I'll have to go with Werewolves because I just can't get thoughts of Joe Manganiello playing “Alcide Herveaux”, that HOT, Ripped, Muscular, melt-Your_panties-off lol, Werewolf from "TrueBlood".

Take Care Ladies,

It's been my pleasure, and a ton of fun, to host Mari here today on her Pub Crawl.

Shifters seem to be beating out the vampires, but I still love them too. :)

OMG...I L-O-V-E the punny name of this series, Cocktales. PLUS, as a librarian, a bar/bookstore would be dreamy. WHY don't we have one of these in my town?

As for the question, I am a big fan of Buffy and Angel so I guess I would vote for vampires (the romanticized ones)...Although I do also like big cats and those shifters can be so sexy.

Cat shifters who have a little something extra. Picture Nassir who has all of 3 lines in Archangel's Consort. Just reading his description makes me very happy. Think cat shifter with vampire thrown in. Yum!

I like shifters and vampires. I'm honestly not a huge fan of zombies.

BTW, Mari, if you're wondering whether you should try shifters, the answer is YES! Write, woman, write!!
