Thursday Thirteen #14

Thirteen Male Characters in my Books.

Chosing the names for your characters is always challenging. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's hard. The trick is to find the perfect name to embody the male hero. Here are a few of mine:

1. Seth ("A Love Eternal" in the Ellora's Cavemen: Legendary Tails IV Anthology) He's the kind of guy who only needs one name.

2. Cain Benjamin (Katie's Art of Seduction.)

3. Arrik Varkas Drakon (Drakon's Treasure)

4. Liam Brannigan (Unmasking Kelly)

5. Stefan Dalakis (Stefan's Salvation)

6. Jarek and Marc of the House of Garen (Christina's Tapestry)

7. Tucker Martin (Heat Wave)

8. Lucas Squires (Craving Candy)

9. Abel Benjamin Garrett (Erin's Fancy)

10. Zane York (Eternal Brothers--Coming Soon)

11. Caleb Morgan (Jessamyn's Christmas Gift)

12. Gideon ("Shadows Stir" - Ellora's Cavemen: Dreams of the Oasis IV)

13. Zaren Bakra (Bakra Bride)

I am so into finding the exact perfect name for my characters, so I loved this post. :)

I have a Seth, Lucas and a Zane. I can't write a word until I find the perfect name.

Thanks, Joely!

Thanks, Samantha. It's not always easy. Sometimes characters are extremely stubborn and refuse to give you their name. :-)

The right name is necessary to begin writing. I agree with you totally, Shelley!

Yep, I'm in the "perfect name" bandwagon. Hehehe! If I can't find the perfect name for my characters, I can't write a word. Putting any other name until I come up with a perfect one doesn't do it for me.

hehe You have a Cain and an Abel. :-D Too cool! I love the names Arrik and Caleb!

A couple of my favorite male names that I've used are Caedmon (little warrior) and Beltran (bright raven). I love looking at their meaning to decide on a name.

Thank you, Charli. :-)

I think a lot of authors feel that way, Tempest.

I've used a lot of my personal favorites, Miss Frou, Frou.

LOL Still lots of good names out there, Rene. :-)

Thanks, Lesley. I always look at the meanings of the names too. It gives the characters layers if their name has meaning for their story. Hence, Cain and Abel. *g*

Lucas and Caleb are great names, Ava Rose. I keep a list, which I add to any time a great name occurs to me. You never know when you might need one in a hurry. *g*

i've reread Katie's Art like 3 times because Cain is simply one of my favorite characters ever.
