Walk This Way

Sometimes inspiration comes from unlikely places and when we least expect it. I followed a link to The Crazy Woman Inside Me a blog by Susan Bodendorfer, aka Daisy Dexter Dobbs. It was inspiring and made me stop and reflect on how much I value my health. But, like many of us, I've let things slide. You get busy with life, or you don't have time, or you just don't feel like exercising.

I admit, I've become a couch potato over the winter. Those long, cold months made me want to do nothing but work and curl up on the end of the couch and nibble, which is why I wrote four books and put on five pounds.

Winter is over and spring is in the air. After reading Susan's Blog, I went for a 4K walk around a local pond today with my hubby. Thanks for the inspiration, Susan, and good luck with your continued journey toward health!

5 pounds? I've seen your pic and wouldn't worry too much. You're still gorgeous.

*sigh* Right, right. I have my walking shoes on.

I walked four blocks yesterday and felt like I'd hiked Everest. But I shall go out and see about doing it again today.

Thanks for the nudge.

How very nice of you, NJ. Thank you for your very kind words, your good wishes, and for the link to my post. If my experience inspires even a few people, then I'm truly a happy woman. :-)

You're so wise to catch it when it's still 5-pounds and hasn’t ballooned to 25, NJ. Good for you for taking that walk today!

Thank you so much, Kathy. That's very kind of you.

LOL I know how you feel Charli. Hubby is going jogging now...I can't keep up with him.

Good for you, Anny. Hopefully it will get easier as time goes on.

My pleasure, Susan. I need to take off about 15 to 20 pounds to be at my peak health. One step at a time!
