I was saddened to hear the news that Jan Berenstain, the co-creator of the wonderful children's series, The Berenstain Bears, has passed away at the age of 88. For 50 years the books she and her husband wrote have been a favorite for children and parents.

I loved these books. Did you know they illustrated the books too? Talk about talent.
