Thursday Thirteen #10

Thirteen Things I Love About Summer!

1. It’s actually hot!
2. Soft serve ice cream cones *yum*
3. Barbeque—everything tastes better barbequed!
4. Baseball—watching it on television on those long hot summer nights
5. Sunshine—you can never have too much.
6. Longer days—more time to do things you enjoy.
7. Flowers—buttercups, daisies, pansies, lupines…
8. Long walks—much nicer in the summer than in the dead of winter *shiver*
9. You don’t have to bundle up every time you leave the house.
10. Sitting out on the patio reading a good book.
11. Vacation! *Woohoo*
12. All the fresh local fruit and vegetables at the grocery store.
13. Did I mention that it’s actually HOT!

I love summer! I just wish the weather would cooperate where I live. We've had solid rain and ick for the past week. *sigh*

Mmm, ice cream. Fun TT! :)

Mmmmm BBQ (insert Homer Simpson voice)
I love the long days -- with the sun up until 9pm, we do so much after dinner that we never get to do in the winter.
Great TT

I hear you, Christine. I wore shorts on the weekend and had to break out my winter coat yesterday!

It's always time for ice cream, Ann. :-)

I love the long days too, Wylie. There is life after dinner, which doesn't seem to happen in the winter.

I'll agree with everything except baseball. I'm a football fan myself, and so fall is my favorite time of year!

N.J.Walters said...

LOL I've never gotten into football, Joely. But I do love fall!

Well, it's way too hot down here in Puerto Rico. Lately the temps are in the 90s. Awful...

N.J.Walters said...

That is hot, Tempest. Although, I could do with a few days of that kind of weather. :-)

I agree with all of them except 1,4, and 13. But then again when it get hot here, it gets really hot (so far only one really hot day- but the heat index was 105- we were actually hotter than my sister who lives in FL). Bleh. Happy TT.

I love summer, too! Reading in a hammock...hmmm! Favorite time. =)

Summer! I love it.
Don't forget swimming, I love swimming!

Planting flowers. Lying in the hammock reading. Yeah, I love summer too...

LOL! You just listed most of the reasons I can't wait for summer to end, NJ. I don't deal with the heat very well -- it makes me bitchy, as you can tell from my TT. =)

I love summer for the heat mostly. :) I hate being cold! I would only have to add the beach to your list. ;)

If you like hot you should be over here in the South. Man its hot. And humid. Like a sauna. Did I mention how much I love whoever invented air conditioning?

Longer days...I love it. It doesn't get dark until after 9PM. So nice!

N.J.Walters said...

That's hot, Ann. I could use some of that here.

Reading in the hammock sounds lovely, Red.

I haven't been swimming in years, Laura. That would mean wearing a bathing suit. LOL

Lorelei--flowers and a hammock in the yard. Does it get any better?

I'm having heat rashes this year myself, Robin, but I still love the heat!

I love the beach too, Loribelle. I plan to go there on my vacation.

I have no idea what it would be like to live somewhere so hot, RG. Where I live you take your heat when you can get it because you're going to be freezing again soon enough.

I'm more a spring girl myself. I get tired of the crazy hotness down here, but nothing beats sitting in the backyard surrounded by flowers eating chicken fresh off the bbq. Why is it food tastes better outside!

N.J.Walters said...

Funny isn't it, Lesley. Food always tastes better outside!

Except for the whole "it's HOT" part of summer, I love it too.

It gets way to hot and humid here in Toronto for my liking. Yay for AC!

N.J.Walters said...

Humidity is not too much of a problem where I live. There is just something so wonderful about a hot summer's day.

Not a fan of heat, bleah. BUT, I love ice cream!

N.J.Walters said...

There is always room for ice cream, Lauren. *g* I guess I like the heat because we get so little of it. LOL

I'm still waiting for hot and for leaving the house without bundling up. Geez. Isn't it June? I'm with you on the BBQ. I love grilled veggies!

I just don't get 1 and 13--I live in tropical Singapore, and I'm so tired of the heat, I'm off to the rainy UK to study for 3 years soon LOL.

Anyway, I'm just saying hi, and thanks for agreeing to guestblog for me with the rest of the Seasons of Seduction crew! :)

Shelley Munro said...

I totally agree. I wish it were summer here. At least we don't get snow. That's a plus, but it's still a bit cold.

Anonymous said...

yup, I love that ice-cream, especially with a stick of chocolate in it :)

N.J.Walters said...

I'm with you, Charli.

May, I can't even begin to understand that kind of heat.

Amen, Shelley! At least it's not snowing...yet. LOL

YUM. Ice cream and chocolate is always a fabulous combination, Ava Rose.

Mmmm, yes, fresh veggies!

Actually I'm not a big barefoot person and I rather like bundling up in cooler weather. :) I wilt in the heat, but I enjoy summer overall.

LOL There's always room for soft serve, TJ.

Carolan, I don't mind fall or cool weather, it's winter I don't like. Brrrrrrrr
