Quote of the Week!

"Read, read, read. Read everything—trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the most. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write. If it is good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out the window." ~William Faulkner

That's the best advice any writer can receive. Just Read!!!!!

Oh yes! And read a variety of things too. I tend to fall into a pattern and only read the same type of books, never going outside of that box. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I stumble onto someone new.

Great quote. It's amazing how many writers don't read and keep up with the market.

It's tough to push yourself outside your boundaries, Christine. Especially when time and money are at a premium. It's always wonderful to find a new author!

LOL I will if you will, Charli!

You're welcome, Red.

It's hard to keep up with all the new authors, Shelley. But I'd say that most, if not all, of us were readers before we were writers. I'd be lost if I didn't read at least 2 or 3 books a week.

I thought it was a great quote too, Mechele.
