Lord of the Rings

In a summer of blockbuster movies, some of which delivered and some of which did not, my hubby and I found ourselves reaching for an old favorite the other day.
*
Starting on a rainy Sunday afternoon, we took out the LOTR--The Fellowship of the Ring. Monday, we watched The Two Towers. And on Tuesday, we finished off with The Return of the King.
*
No matter how many times I see these movies I'm shocked by just how good they are. When you finish it, you're wondering just how soon you can find the time to watch it again. The story, the action, the depth of the characters, the unexpected humor, the horror, all combine to make these some of the best movies ever made.
*
Do you have any movies that you like to take out and watch again and again?
*
Hubby and I have seasonal movies we like to watch, but these are some of the few non-seasonal movies that we have to watch at least once a year.

I too love my LOTR films. I watch them all the time. My X-Men movies, all 3, and both Fantastic Four movies rank too. My favorite seasonal movie is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. That movie is so funny.

I love watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year, along with It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol.

Hubby and I also have a lot of Halloween favorites that we like to watch during the month of October. :-)

Dances with Wolves, Undercover Blues, Independence Day, Dante's Peak, all for different reasons... oh, yeah, Men in Black.

All great movies, Anny.

A good movie is like a good book, it can instantly take you away somewhere else and pull at certain emotional strings.
