Randi Alexander's Chase and Seduction

New Release and Book Giveaway!

I want to thank NJ for letting me guest blog today. I'm Randi Alexander and I write cowboy erotic romance. My first book, Chase and Seduction was released May 27 from The Wild Rose Press' Cowboy Kink line.

When I think of a cowboy, I picture a young, handsome, buff man wearing boots and jeans, a black Stetson, and usually no shirt (the no-shirt part is my personal fantasy.) But there's more to a cowboy than just looks.

A cowboy's scent. Whether it's cologne or just soap and water, he's going to smell nice for a Saturday night date. And when he's comin' in off the range, the fresh air permeates his clothing and hair, subtly mixing with a little horse scent.

A low, sexy drawl, like Sam Elliot's dark-chocolate rumble that sends a tingle up and down my spine. If you're into audio books, check out the recording of Sam's Creed, read by Jason Adams. When he reads Sam's dialogue, oh, wow, it's hot.

Then there's the presence. An attitude. Rock solid and slow to anger, a cowboy loves the land he rides, and will make sacrifices to help others. He can handle any crisis while still protectin' his woman. And a gentlemanly way about him that can charm the pants off just about any gal.

That's why I love reading and writing about cowboys. They each have their unique quirks and a couple of endearing flaws, but the basic structure is there, ensuring that we'll have a seductive read while our heroine is valiantly trying to resist his charm, and a damn wild time when that cowboy finally gets her into his bed.

Country music superstar/actor Chase Tanner has yet to be denied anything–and he’s never wanted anything or anyone more than gorgeous screenplay writer Reno Linden. So when the film they are working on is finally finished, Chase decides to turn up the volume on seducing Reno.

Reno Linden lived a quiet, rural life until she was thrust into the Hollywood scene when her book was adapted to film. Chase Tanner is larger than life, sinfully sexy and hell-bent on getting her into bed. Skittish after a failed wedding engagement, Reno risks the plunge into Chase’s arms, and is surprised that her good girl self can keep up with bad boy Chase.

Though Chase returns to his cowboy roots often, and Reno cherishes the time spent with him on his ranch, the two find their careers pulling them in different directions. Will their attraction survive the glitz and stress of fame?

EXCERPT: Over 18 only

Chase laughed, then sobered. His fingers slid under her hair, caressing her neck softly as he said, “You are a beautiful woman.”

She’d often been called beautiful-but-healthy, which referred to those extra forty pounds that made the difference between being a model, and being just plain Reno Linden.

He ran his fingers up the back of her head. “Your hair is like satin. And I’ve never seen eyes that color. Amber.”

Trying to keep from grinning, she teased, “Reno.”

He laughed. “No, your eyes are amber.” Seconds slipped by before he tipped his head and brushed his lips over hers.

She closed her eyes and parted her lips to breathe in his essence.

With a groan, his arm came around her waist, and he pulled her closer. His tongue danced with hers, the unexpectedly sweet taste of tequila and tobacco making her hungry for more of him.

Chase ended the kiss then pressed his lips to her temple and began swaying them in a slow dance. Quietly, he sang, “You’re the one I’ve been looking for, You’re the light behind that hidden door, Can’t figure out where you’ve been all my life, but I don’t wanna be without you anymore.”

Something melted inside her as he sang the song he dedicated to her from the stage. This was where she belonged, in his arms, where she fit perfectly, a lost puzzle piece at last finding its place.

“Look at me, Reno,” he said.

To celebrate the release of Chase and Seduction, I'm giving away, to one lucky *commenter, an e-copy of my novella Her Cowboy Stud. Just leave a comment today and we'll choose a winner tomorrow.

*Commenter must be 18 years of age or older to win.

I'm also giving away a cowgirl hat to one subscriber to my newsletter. For more details, and to sign up for this contest, please go to my website, RandiAlexander.com And while you're there, you can read the first chapter of Chase and Seduction.

Hi Kat, I do love the story in C&S. Even though it's erotic, it's first and foremost a romance.

Elece, I agree with you. Singing cowboys are dreamy!!! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Maria, thanks for dropping by. I'm always surprised when people tell me how funny my scenes can be. I guess my sense of humor comes out in my writing, even when I don't realize it.

Major congrats on your first book release Randi. You must be very excited.
Chase and Seduction sounds fantastic and it looks like Chase and Reno will be turning up the heat in this book. And a hot romance is one of my favorite types of books.
