Embracing Silence and Have Mercy Joyfully Reviewed
Embracing Silence has been reviewed by Joyfully Reviewed. Here is a snippet of what reviewer Jo has to say:
"A woman with no past and a man with no future discover what love can do when you have nothing to lose. Embracing Silence brings two very different types of warriors together...I was surprised at just how quickly Tienan and Silence came together, but when you are living in a lawless society, you learn to make quick and correct decisions. The life that Tienan and Silence live is nowhere near perfect, but I believed they had discovered a perfect love together and knew to fight for it. The ending was actually just the beginning for them. Embracing Silence brought two lovers together forever while surrounded with the constant threat of death.
I can’t wait for the next book in the Alpha series."

Have Mercy as also reviewed and here is some of what the reviewer had to say:
" I didn’t see how they could have a life together the entire time I was pulling for them to find a way. The solution was perfect for both of them even while the danger was ramping up. Have Mercy has a sweet and loving passion side by side with life threatening danger to keep your attention.
War is coming and I really can’t wait to see what Ms. Walters does with the next Alpha book. I bet you will be waiting with me."

Monday, Monday
I have to say that January is flying by faster than usual and I have no idea why. What is usually the longest month of the winter, for me, is almost over. I need to get down to work. LOL
I do try to get a lot of work done in the cold months so that I can take some time off when it finally gets warm enough for me to want to go outside. That's the plan. But you know what they say about the best laid plans...
Plus, the Olympics are next month and I always love to watch them, which means more time away from my writing.
So, enjoy the last full week of January. Spring is inching closer each day.
Have a great day!

Flashback Friday--Capturing Carly
Capturing Carly is the third book in the Awakening Desires. The books in this series are interconnected, but can be read as stand-alone books.
I admit that Nathan is one of the most difficult male characters I've ever written. That darn man wanted everything his way...and he got it too.
BLURB:
Third in the Awakening Desires series.
Carly Ames has yearned for Nathan Connors for more years than she cares to think about. One wild night of sex with him resulted in their quick engagement. But now that she has Nathan, she's not quite sure that she can handle him.
Big and tough, Nathan is very well suited to his job as a sheriff's deputy. Protective and forthright, he is definitely used to being in charge. Now he wants to be in control of her sexual pleasure, but fears his sexual preferences will scare a good girl like her.
As circumstances conspire to keep them apart, Nathan senses that Carly is having second thoughts. Now he must convince her that she's more than woman enough to meet his demands, in and out of the bedroom, because now that he's captured Carly, there is no way he is letting her go.

Winter Blues
It's the time of year when many folks fall victim to the Winter Blues. The lack of sunshine, the piles of snow everywhere and the short days (more darkness, less light) are the primary reasons. While some people have a severe reaction to this and can need professional treatment, I think most of us are prone to a slighter reaction and just end up feeling a little blue.
What can we do to help counter this reaction?
1. Exercise. Which can be tough when you don't feel like doing anything, but it will help.
Now if I can only make myself work out. :-)
2. Get outside when the sun does shine. If the sun isn't making an appearance near you, make sure to take some vitamin D supplements.
3. Take up a new hobby. It will help stimulate your brain and give you something new and interesting to focus on.
4. Cook. Don't fall victim to the pre-cooked meal or fast food. Cook with fresh fruits and vegetables to give yourself a taste of summer.
5. Don't be afraid to take a nap if you need one. Honestly, I think naps are underrated. They can be rejuvenating and just plain cozy.
And remember, spring isn't too far away. How do you cope with the Winter Blues?

I finally joined Facebook.
I know, I know, I'm slow, as usual. I freely admit that techonology and social networking groups intimidate me, but I finally signed up. Now all I need are friends. :-)
If you'd like to check out me out on Facebook you can search for N. j. Walters. Facebook doesn't seem to like two initials as a name and downsized one of them.
It was a freezing cold weekend here and I spent most of it trying to stay warm. Hope you had a good one and are ready for another week! I did manage to get galley proofs done for Alexandra's Legacy. That means it will be out in print this coming August!

Monday, Monday
Good morning and welcome to Monday!
It snowed on Saturday and was cold and windy on Sunday, so most of the weekend was spent indoors. I did start some preliminary work for my next book yesterday, but it's hard to get started again after the Christmas holiday. And with it being so cold and snowy outside, I'd rather nap than work.
Still, I have the computer fired up this morning and am rereading a book and making notes for the next one. That's how I start when the book I'm working on is part of a series. I need to refamiliarize myself with what came before and what I've done with certain characters. Once I make notes (which in reality means a small mountain of file cards), I'll do whatever research I need to do. Then I'll think about the plot of the book. Once I know my opening scene, I'll begin writing. I hope to get to that stage before the end of the week.
With the wind chill, it's hovering around 0 degrees farenheit this morning. I can't seem to get warm. So, I'm going to pour myself a cup of tea, pull a blanket over my legs and keep working. Because spring will be here soon enough and I'm hoping to have several books written by then.
Have a great Monday!
