TUESDAY TEASER--PROTECTING THE GRAY WOLF

 Here's a teaser from my latest release, PROTECTING THE GRAY WOLF, book 2 of the Lone Wolf Legacy trilogy.

TEASER:

It was rude, but Luna couldn’t stop staring at the man. Rough around the edges with his scruffy jaw and leather jacket, he should have looked completely out of place. Instead, everyone around him faded into the background, paling in comparison.

Towering over her, she estimated he stood at least six and a half feet, maybe slightly more. His hair was a pale foggy gray that fell in thick strands to his broad shoulders. It was an unusual shade, better suited to an older man, but there was nothing elderly about him. This was a man in his prime. There were no signs of dark roots, either. Maybe it was natural, like the two thick locks she had on either side of her face. She pegged him to be in his thirties, mostly because of the air of confidence surrounding him.

Which is when I see her, and every cell in my body is on alert, filled with the kind of primal longing I never knew I was capable of. Luna West may be human, but there’s some kind of thread connecting us. Call it destiny, fate…or voracious animal hunger.

I know she’s bait. She’s meant to tempt me, to make me weak. But even if I could resist her, I’m not sure I want to.

Kade Alvarez. It was a strong name and suited him. She absently reached up and touched her cheek where his finger had stroked. It was silly to believe she could still feel the heat from his skin. Dropping her hand, she tugged her light sweater more firmly around her. It might be June but the evening had a distinct chill.

The man left an impression. His massive size notwithstanding, there was something about him that drew her eye—and that of every other woman in the place. Charisma. He had it in spades. He oozed innate strength and control. Add wealth on top of it and it automatically made her distrust him.

“You think?” The sarcasm paired with the glare she sent him said that she didn’t think he was particularly bright. She rubbed her hands over her face. “Okay, I can deal with this. Werewolves and magic are real and you’re the gray wolf.” A slightly hysterical laugh escaped her.

“You can’t tell anyone.” If she did, word would eventually trickle back to the local wolves. They would not be pleased. To protect themselves, they’d sacrifice her life. He couldn’t allow that.

“I’m not stupid. I start spewing nonsense about werewolves and I’ll be locked up.
