TEASER:

Liam worked his way down the bar, serving up tall, cold mugs of beer and mixing drinks until he finally reached her far corner. “Welcome to Brannigan’s, pretty lady. What can I get you?” His smooth, deep tones rolled across her skin like a caress. He stood in front of her with his hands on his hips and a twinkle in those deep blue eyes. His shirt was open at the top, emphasizing the strong column of his neck and offering her a tantalizing glimpse of his impressive chest. Really, the man was too sexy to be let out amongst the regular population.

She frowned when she realized he was staring at her. Glancing down, she had a quick peek at her cleavage to make sure she hadn’t fallen out of the bustier. It was close. Her breasts swelled against the lace trim, but her nipples were still covered. Barely.

Her head jerked up when she felt his fingers beneath her chin. But instead of releasing her, his hand cupped her jaw and he leaned closer. For a moment she thought he might kiss her. Her lips parted in anticipation. His breath was warm on her moist mouth. He was close. So very close.

“What can I get you?” His voice was so soft and seductive it took a few seconds for her to process the meaning of his words. She jerked her head back in embarrassment, her cheeks heating. While she’d been all but undressing the man with her eyes, he’d been waiting for her to order.

“White wine, please.” Her tone was briskly matter-of-fact and Kelly wanted to bang her head against the bar in frustration. She wasn’t supposed to use her regular voice. She’d practiced lowering her voice and speaking more slowly and sensually.

 

But Liam had turned away to fill her drink order, giving no indication that he recognized her. Good. All wasn’t lost. She could do this. She knew she could. When he placed her glass on the bar in front of her, she smiled at him. “Thank you, handsome.” This time, her voice was mellow with a come-hither tone.

He smiled his pirate’s grin. “You’re welcome. You here with anyone?”

This was it. This was her chance. Trying not to seem too eager, she picked up her glass and took a long sip. Lowering the glass back to the bar, she licked her lips, allowing her tongue to stroke across first the upper and then the lower lip. His eyes tracked every movement of her tongue.

Was it just her or was the room getting hotter? Her costume suddenly seemed incredibly tight and she struggled to breathe.

Michelle at RAMBLINGS FROM A CHAOTIC MIND says DOUBLE OR NOTHING is a "ménage story between a heartbroken, vulnerable woman and the two brothers who want her. I liked the contrast between the two men. Remy, the oldest, is cut from the cloth of the cowboys of the old west: stoic, determined, passionate and forceful. Wes is more of a peacemaker, using patience and charm to turn any situation around. I could see why Cherry would be attracted to each of them, although despite the disparities in their personalities, her relationship with Wes and Remy wasn’t all that different. With Halloween in the air, I thought the Tuesday Teaser this week needed A TOUCH OF MAGICK. This is book one of the Spells, Secrets and Seductions trilogy from Samhain Publishing and can be read as a stand-alone book.

She stepped back and looked at the two women she loved liked sisters. “I still think we all need to get laid.”

Maggie giggled. “You need a self-help group or something.”

Romanticon Fun

I was unable to attend the Ellora's Cave Romanticon convention this past weekend in Ohio. But I did send along a gift box with some books and other goodies that was won by Ellora's Cave author Kathy Kulig's hubby during PJ Bingo.

Bethany forced herself to speak. “Is this Quinn Lawton?”

“Who wants to know?” She almost hung up on him. His impatience and arrogance bled through the phone line. But she’d promised her friend.

“Do you have a sister named Chrissten?”

“Where is she? Who are you? Where are you?”

Bethany was so startled by the angry outburst she dropped the receiver. She could hear Quinn yelling at her through the line. She grabbed the phone and hung up, panting hard for breath. He was one scary man.

She sat there for about thirty seconds before she grabbed the phone and punched in the number again.

“Hello. Are you there?” he demanded.

“I’m here.” This was for Chrissten, she reminded herself. And for yourself, a little voice in the back of her head said. You want to know more about who you are. What you are.

Jewelry making weekend

I took myself off to a basic jewelry making course on Saturday morning. It was only three hours long, but I did learn some basic techniques and made myself a necklace and a pair of earrings. But more than that, I tried something new and had some fun!

Tuesday Teaser: Legacy Found

This week the Tuesday Teaser is from LEGACY FOUND, the third book in the Legacy series. I just love James!

TEASER:

James froze in place. All his senses went on full alert. Her scent was ever so faint, almost as if she were masking it somehow. But it was there. “You’re a werewolf,” he whispered. He was so shocked he spoke before he could check his words.

The woman paled and swayed. His hand shot out to steady her, but she quickly pulled away, taking a step backward. “What? What did you say?” Her voice grew steadier with each word she spoke.

The soft tones of her voice skimmed over James like a caress. He was struck with the urge to draw her close to him, lay his head against her stomach and just listen to her talk. But fright still lingered in her dark chocolate-brown eyes in spite of her bravado. Her fingers clenched around the pen she was holding and she took another half-step backward.

“Nothing.” He kept his voice low and as unthreatening as possible. “I didn’t say anything important.”

She relaxed immediately, offering him a tiny smile that brightened her entire face. Up close, he could see that beneath her weariness, there was a beautiful woman. The skin on her heart-shaped face was as fine as a baby’s and appeared to be incredibly smooth. Her chin was slightly pointed, her cheekbones high. And her small nose turned up at the tip. Her eyebrows curved slightly and were the same light brown color as her hair.

He sat up straighter, every muscle in his body pulling tight. Deep within him, he could feel his wolf pacing restlessly.
