Weekend Book Club--The Traitor by Abigail Owen

I'd read Abigail Owen's Inferno Rising series, but hadn't realized her Fire's Edge series was connected. Needless to say, I devoured all the books, including the newly released one--The Traitor.

The author has created a fantastical, vibrant, and original world in this series and filled it with characters you'll fall in love with. I laughed out loud, and I cried like a baby while reading this book.

It's got it all--characters you'll love, action and adventure, plenty of heat, and a love story that will leave you sighing.

If you love paranormal romance, especially dragons, this book is for you. If you haven't already read the Fire's Edge series, what are you waiting for?

Weekend Book Club--Tuffy Claus by Linda Mooney

TUFFY CLAUS by Linda Mooney is not your ordinary Christmas novella. Santa has a brother named Dominik who drives a red Harley, wields a sledgehammer, and is anything but a saint. This is a sweet holiday read. I really enjoyed it!

BLURB:

It’s another night on the job for Deputy Sheriff Barbara Mero, giving chase to a suspect in a stolen vehicle. But when someone beats her to the perp, she’s not sure whether to step in or not. Before she can stop him, a sledgehammer-wielding bearded biker on a red Harley delivers his own punishment, but with his parting words, Babs isn’t so sure he’s another bad guy.

After further investigation, Babs knows this vigilante “Santa” meant well, but there’s no proof he was even there. And after a few more run-ins with the red-cloaked badass, she’s torn between duty and justice, but in her heart she knows he’s the real deal.

You see, there’s a side of the story of Santa that doesn’t get told, and that’s where Dominik comes in. Being the twin to Kris, Dom’s job isn’t near as merry, though still necessary, answering the letters from the kids who want more than just toys. Those who want a better, safer life, food, and shelter. Basic needs a kid shouldn’t have to wish for on Christmas. Alhough he’s accepted his own lot in life, Dominik still has one regret. It’s a lonely life.

There’s another side to jolly old Saint Nick, and he ain’t a saint.

Weekend Book Club--The Savior by J.R. Ward

THE SAVIOR is the 17th installment of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and it does not disappoint. This is everything you'd want from a BDB book.

Ward has created a world unlike any other. Her writing is gritty and oftentimes the storylines are difficult. There are books in this series I've read over and over. Others I've read once and will likely never read again because they're too emotionally draining. She's created characters you love. You'll laugh with them, cry with them, and keep turning pages to find out what happens next.

In the venerable history of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, only one male has ever been expelled—but Murhder’s insanity gave the Brothers no choice. Haunted by visions of a female he could not save, he nonetheless returns to Caldwell on a mission to right the wrong that ruined him. However, he is not prepared for what he must face in his quest for redemption.

Dr. Sarah Watkins, researcher at a biomedical firm, is struggling with the loss of her fellow scientist fiancé. When the FBI starts asking about his death, she questions what really happened and soon learns the terrible truth: Her firm is conducting inhumane experiments in secret and the man she thought she knew and loved was involved in the torture.

As Murhder and Sarah’s destinies become irrevocably entwined, desire ignites between them. But can they forge a future that spans the divide separating the two species? And as a new foe emerges in the war against the vampires, will Murhder return to his Brothers... or resume his lonely existence forevermore?

Weekend Book Club--In Her Sights by Katie Ruggle

IN HER SIGHTS is the first book in Katie Ruggle's new Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. Sexy and suspenseful with wonderful characters. Looking forward to book 2 later this year.

I'm a big fan of Katie Ruggle's books and really loved her Search and Rescue series as well as her Rocky Mountain K9 Unit series.

Five bounty-hunting sisters
Deep in the heart of the Rockies
Fighting to save each other
…and the men who steal their hearts

Bounty hunter Molly Pax fought hard for everything she has, turning the bail recovery business she shares with her sisters into an unqualified success. So when their sticky-fingered mother jumps bail and puts the childhood home up as collateral, Molly's horrified. To make matters worse, every two-bit criminal in the Rockies now sees her family's misfortune as their next big break.

She needs help, stat.

Enter rival bounty hunter John Carmondy: six feet of pure trouble, with a cocky grin to match. John's the most cheerfully, annoyingly gorgeous frenemy Molly's ever had the pleasure of defeating…and he may be her only hope of making it out of this mess alive.

Weekend Book Club--New Books from Laurann Dohner and Cynthia Sax

We're going science fiction romance this weekend! I read both these books a few weeks back and really enjoyed them. If you're looking for some sexy science fiction, you can't go wrong with either of these authors!

THE GORISON TRAVELER INCIDENT (Veslor Mates Book 1) by Laurann Dohner

Vivian is a cultural specialist on the United Earth fleet ship Gorison Traveler. It’s the perfect job for someone who wants to learn everything about aliens. The only problem? The commander won’t let her anywhere near the visiting Ke’ters aboard the ship. The only way she gets a peek at the lizard-like race is when her brother opens a live camera feed during a meeting—a meeting that turns tragic when the Ke’ters attack the crew.

She’s horrified. Scared. The Ke’ters are murdering her people. Rushing from her quarters to get help from a control center, Vivian finds the station abandoned. It’s all on her to try to rescue the crew.

Brassi is a Veslor trader who picks up a distress signal from a nearby space vessel. The attractive female who contacts him looks terrified, and needs his help. He’ll board the Gorison Traveler with his crewmates, and fight the Ke’ters, but the longer he spends on the huge Earth vessel, the greater distraction Vivian becomes. Brassi will do whatever it takes to save her…and to discover if Vivian’s his mate.

CHOOSING CHUCKLES (Cyborg Space Exploration Book 1) by Cynthia Sax

A Cynical Cyborg Meets A Bad, Bad Female.

Chuckles hates all humans. In the past, humans betrayed him. That treachery caused permanent damage to his muscular form, resulting in a lifespan of pain.

When the primitive D Model cyborg answers a distress call sent by a pink-and-blue haired, sparkly human female, he knows it’s a trap. He still has to respond to her fake cry for help. She belongs to him, is the one being genetically fabricated for him. But he plans to be her captor, not her captive.

Bettina, aka Bait, works with a team of females, snaring sexual predators in space, seizing their ships and transporting them to primitive planets. As soon as she speaks with Chuckles, she knows he’s not like the others. He has honor, is a being worthy of respect, of caring.

But she can’t let him go. She has to trap him. His dominance thrills her. His deep voice evokes desires she’d never experienced in the past. She’ll risk it all, breaking every rule for one wild encounter with the male she calls Sir.

Choosing Chuckles is a STANDALONE BBW Cyborg SciFi Romance set in a dark, gritty, sometimes-violent universe.

Weekend Book Club--In a Bader Way by Shelly Laurenston

I'm a huge Shelly Laurenston fan. IN A BADGER WAY is the second book in her Honey Badger Chronicles, which includes characters from her The Pride series.

If you love your paranormal romance with quirky characters, offbeat humor, and amazing stories, you must check out this author.

I also love her Call of Crows series and am hoping for more books.

Petite, kind, brilliant, and young, Stevie is nothing like the usual women bodyguard Shen Li is interested in. Even more surprising, the youngest of the lethal, ball-busting, and beautiful MacKilligan sisters is terrified of bears. But she’s not terrified of pandas. She loves pandas.

Which means that whether Shen wants her to or not, she simply won’t stop cuddling him. He isn’t some stuffed Giant Panda, ya know! He is a Giant Panda shifter. He deserves respect and personal space. Something that little hybrid is completely ignoring.

But Stevie has a way of finding trouble. Like going undercover to take down a scientist experimenting on other shifters. For what, Shen doesn’t want to know, but they’d better find out. And fast. Stevie might be the least violent of the honey badger sisters, but she’s the most dangerous to Shen’s peace of mind. Because she has absolutely no idea how much trouble they’re in . . . or just how damn adorable she is.

Weekend Book club--Mercury Striking by Rebecca Zanetti

A short while ago, MERCURY STRIKING by Rebecca Zanetti was on sale. It looked interesting so I gave it a read. It's the first book in the Scorpius Syndrome series.

This is a fast paced, gritty post-apocalyptic romance that will leave you wanting more. And I'm not kidding when I say that. I bought and read the rest of the series in under a week. I couldn't stop reading them and can't wait for the next book.

I would recommend reading Scorpius Rising first. It's basically a prequel that gives you the background to the virus that lays waste to the world.

BLURB:

With nothing but rumors to lead her, Lynne Harmony has trekked across a nightmare landscape to find one man—a mysterious, damaged legend who protects the weak and leads the strong. He’s more than muscle and firepower—and in post-plague L.A., he’s her only hope. As the one woman who could cure the disease, Lynne is the single most volatile—and vulnerable—creature in this new and ruthless world. But face to face with Jax Mercury…

Weekend Book Club--Archangel's Prophecy by Nalini Singh

Anyone who knows me knows I am a HUGE fan of Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series, so I was so very excited for the release of ARCHANGEL'S PROPHECY.

This book is everything you'd expect and want. It has action, suspense, an intricate storyline, and of course, a love story for the ages. As much as I love the books about Raphael's Seven, I love when the series goes back around to Elena and Raphael.

This was an emotional read and I thoroughly enjoy it...until I got to the end and was left of a huge cliff-hanger. To me, this makes this book more urban fantasy than romance. Now I just have to start counting off the days until the next book is released. I'll be first in line at the bookstore to buy it.

BLURB:

Return to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s darkly passionate Guild Hunter world, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust center stage into an eons-old prophecy…
Midnight and dawn, Elena’s wings are unique among angelkind—and now they are failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she’s regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.

Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena’s very survival, violent forces are gathering across the world. In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena’s mind whispers a haunting voice that isn’t her own.

This time, survival may not be possible…not even for the consort of an archangel.

Weekend Book Club--In Darkness Transformed and Atone in Darkness by Alexis Morgan

Somehow I managed to miss the fact that Alexis Morgan had released two new Paladin book. So this past week, I read IN DARKNESS TRANSFORMED, The Paladin Strike Team Book 1 and ATONE IN DARKNESS, The Paladin Strike Team Book 2.

This is a unique series packed with plenty of action. Her Paladins are larger than life and ready to die to protect the world. The women who love them are just as strong and unique as they are. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

IN DARKNESS TRANSFORMED

Dying hurts…but not as much as living.

Eli is lucky to survive the helicopter crash that killed the rest of the passengers. But when he notices his wounds healing before his eyes, it seems like his survival may have come from more than luck.

Safara knows what Eli does not—Eli is a paladin, a mortal enemy of someone like Safara, someone from Kalithia.

Still, after Eli saves Safara’s life, and Safara introduces Eli to a whole new world, they just can’t seem to treat each as enemies.

ATONE IN DARKNESS

Brilliant doctor Marisol knows nothing about the mysterious man whose vitals she monitors and whose every move she's paid to track—other than the fact that he is brought to death's door each night by a squad of military grade thugs. She certainly can't ask the people who hired her. After all, they run this shady, hi-tech compound where she is now stranded, the only woman among huge, uniform-clad brutes.

Chase Mosely, Marisol's sole charge, knows nothing about who was behind his kidnapping, other than the fact that they want to know about his Paladin's ability to heal. Nor does he know anything about his pretty keeper, who seems to be working for the enemy, but still looks at him with compassion in her eyes.

Both held captive in a remote testing facility, their desperate stories intertwine. And, as they discover that they mean more to each other than they could ever have imagined, the two of them must find a way to escape, no matter the odds.

Weekend Book Club--Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston

I read HOT AND BADGERED by Shelly Laurenston when it was first released but forgot to post about it, but better late than never. I absolutely LOVE her writing. I've read all The Pride Series and the Call of Crows.

Hot and Badgered is the start of her Honey Bader Chronicles. If you haven't read any of her books, no worries. You can jump right in with this one. But if you've read her Pride series, you'll recognize many of the secondary characters.

If you love paranormal books that are quirky, funny, and smart with lots of action, you must read these books.

BLURB:

It’s not every day that a beautiful naked woman falls out of the sky and lands face-first on grizzly shifter Berg Dunn’s hotel balcony. Definitely they don’t usually hop up and demand his best gun. Berg gives the lady a grizzly-sized t-shirt and his cell phone, too, just on style points. And then she’s gone, taking his XXXL heart with her. By the time he figures out she’s a honey badger shifter, it’s too late.

Honey badgers are survivors. Brutal, vicious, ill-tempered survivors. Or maybe Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan is just pissed that her useless father is trying to get them all killed again, and won’t even tell her how. Protecting her little sisters has always been her job, and she’s not about to let some pesky giant grizzly protection specialist with a network of every shifter in Manhattan get in her way. Wait. He’s trying to help? Why would he want to do that? He’s cute enough that she just might let him tag along—that is, if he can keep up . . .

Weekend Book Club--Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean and An Affair with a Spare by Shana Galen

This past week was all about the historical romance and I read two wonderful books--Wicked and the Wallflower and An Affair with a Spare.

The first was Wicked and The Wallflower, the first book in the Bareknuckle Bastards series by Sarah Maclean. I love Sarah MacLean's books but I think she's outdone herself with this one--dark and dangerous with a heroine you will love. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Next came An Affair with a Spare by Shana Galen. This book was delightful, complex, and a perfect addition to the series.

WICKED AND THE WALLFLOWER
Bareknuckle Bastards Book 1 by Sarah MacLean

BLURB:

When Wicked Comes Calling . . .
When a mysterious stranger finds his way into her bedchamber and offers his help in landing a duke, Lady Felicity Faircloth agrees—on one condition. She’s seen enough of the world to believe in passion, and won’t accept a marriage without it.

The Wallflower Makes a Dangerous Bargain . . .
Bastard son of a duke and king of London’s dark streets, Devil has spent a lifetime wielding power and seizing opportunity, and the spinster wallflower is everything he needs to exact a revenge years in the making. All he must do is turn the plain little mouse into an irresistible temptress, set his trap, and destroy his enemy.

For the Promise of Passion . . .
But there’s nothing plain about Felicity Faircloth, who quickly decides she’d rather have Devil than another. Soon, Devil’s carefully laid plans are in chaos and he must choose between everything he's ever wanted . . . and the only thing he's ever desired.

AN AFFAIR WITH A SPARE (The Survivors) by Shana Galen

BLURB:

He’s turned seduction into an art form…

Rafe Beaumont, fifth son of an earl, uses his irresistible charm with the ladies to glean dangerous war secrets. Now he’s putting those skills to the ultimate test: capturing an elusive assassin by seducing his daughter. The problem? She’s entirely immune to Rafe’s flattery.

Never before has Collette Fortier met a man as attractive as Rafe. But her father’s life is at stake, and succumbing to Rafe would be disastrous. But when Rafe turns the tables on her, offering support and friendship instead of a fleeting affair, Collette finds herself tempted in ways she never could have imagined…

Weekend Book Club--Coti's Unclaimed Mate by Elle Boon and Dark Warlord by Cynthia Sax

This week I'm featuring TWO books--COTI'S UNCLAIMED MATE by Elle Boon and DARK WARLORD by Cynthia Sax.

COTI'S UNCLAIMED MATE, the 8th book in Elle Boon’s Iron Wolves MC, has everything you expect from an Elle Boon book—sexy, dangerous heroes, sassy heroines, originality, action, and plenty of heat!

BLURB:

Will they find beauty in the ashes as the fire settles, or will they go up in flames?

Shifters and humans don’t mix, at least not in Coti’s opinion. He’s more than just a wolf though, but his pack and fellow MC brothers don’t know everything there is to know about him, and he likes to keep it that way…until one human female comes along and changes everything.

Renee, or NeNe to her friends hates her life. Well, she didn’t hate it so much when she could count on her friends, but one-by-one they began finding boyfriends, leaving her alone. Suddenly, she finds herself on the outside looking in. A girl from the wrong side of the tracks, she knows she needs to make a change or she’ll end up like her mother, dead.

A connection between two of the most unlikely people seemed written in the stars, but Coti isn’t ready to accept his fate, while NeNe doesn’t want a man who’s a brawler like her father. No, these two will fight their attraction, even if it kills them.

When a new group moves into town just outside of the Iron Wolves territory giving NeNe the opportunity to make extra cash in order to escape, she latches on with both hands. Only is the saying something’s too good to be true going to bite her in the rear, or will her savior come to the rescue? For Coti he can’t seem to shake off the need to keep one tiny human safe, even if it puts him in a perilous position of claiming the female for his own.

DARK WARLORD by Cynthia Sax is the fifth book in her Refuge series. It was originally part of a boxed set, but I bought it again because I like to be able to read it again as a stand-alone novella. I LOVE Cynthia Sax's aliens and can't wait for the next book in this series.

BLURB:

Battling the Barbarian...

All Chamele Warlords have a destined mate, a gerel they are fated to spend their lifespans with. Batu, being genetically enhanced, believes he's the sole exception. He devotes himself to battle, is resigned to living a solitary life, dying with swords in both of his hands.

Then he sees her.

Genine is a warrior female intent on protecting her loved ones. To keep them safe, she must face Fighter Batu in the ring. If she loses to the barbarian, she becomes his to do with as he wishes. And he wishes her to submit to his deep voice, rough touch, passionate kisses. If she defeats Batu, she will have to kill the one male she was destined to love.

This story was previously part of a box set.

Dark Warlord is a short companion story in the Refuge series and is meant to be read after Dark Flight.

It is a SciFi Romance set in a gritty, dark world.

Weekend Book Club--Awaken the Darkness by Dianne Duvall

This week I read AWAKEN THE DARKNESS, the 8th book in Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardian's series.

I LOVE this series! I've been a fan since the very first book. Original, action-packed, and emotional. If you are a fan of paranormal romance you really should be reading this series.

BLURB:

He awakens encapsulated in dirt with no knowledge of how he came to be there. Riddled with injuries, he can remember neither his past nor who he is. Nor can he remember what he is. But surely no mortal man could survive being buried deep beneath the earth. All he knows with certainty is that the soothing voice and presence of the woman moving around above enables him to endure the agony of his wounds. And he will do whatever it takes to be with her.

When Susan first sees the old two-story house for sale, such warmth and longing fill her that—against all reason—she makes an offer. It will take years of hard work and money she frankly doesn’t have to fix up the place. So she can’t explain why she bought it. She also can’t explain what compels her to spend hours one night, digging in the basement until she unearths a man. A man who still lives and breathes despite having been buried alive. A man whose intense brown eyes glow amber with pain, declaring him far more than ordinary. Susan knows she should keep her distance. He has no memory and possesses gifts that would make most fear him. But as the two work together to unravel the mystery of his past, she finds herself drawn in by his teasing nature and tender touch. So much so that she loses her heart to him even as they find themselves hunted by unknown enemies who are ruthless in their quest to capture them.

Weekend Book Club--The Darkest Warrior by Gena Showalter

THE DARKEST WARRIOR is Gena Showalter's latest offering in her Lords of the Underworld series. I've been reading this series since the first book was released. (This is book 14.)

Unique, dark, and compelling. If you enjoy paranormal romance, you should give it a try, but I'd start with book one. While The Darkest Warrior probably could be read as a stand-alone book, you'd miss a lot of the history between the characters and the nuances that are in the story.

BLURB:

He is ice…
Puck the Undefeated, host of the demon of Indifference, cannot experience emotion without punishment, so he allows himself to feel nothing. Until her. According to ancient prophecy, she is the key to avenging his past, saving his realm and ruling as king. All he must do? Steal her from the man she loves—and marry her.

She is fire…

Gillian Shaw has suffered many tragedies in her too-short life, but nothing could have prepared the fragile human for her transition into immortality. To survive, she must wed a horned monster who both intrigues and frightens her…and become the warrior queen she was born to be.

Together they burn.

As a rising sense of possession and obsession overtake Puck, so does insatiable lust. The more he learns about his clever, resourceful wife, the more he craves her. And the more time Gillian spends with her protective husband, the more she aches for him. But the prophecy also predicts an unhappily-ever-after. Can Puck defeat fate itself to keep the woman who brought his deadened heart back to life? Or will they succumb to destiny, losing each other…and everything they’ve been fighting for?

Weekend Book Club--Heart of Frankenstein by Lexi Post

HEART OF FRANKENSTEIN by Lexi Post was released in September of 2017 but was new to me.

I love how the author took a classic story and brought it into the present. An emotional and beautiful love story that shows the true meaning of love and acceptance.

BLURB:

In 1718, he was abandoned then betrayed, spurring his relentless desire for revenge against his creator, Victor Frankenstein. It is now the 21st Century, and despite his fervent wish for death, he still exists, tortured by his crimes, searching only for peace.

Angela Ellis would have frozen to death in the harsh Alaskan wilderness if not for the man who found her on an icy ledge. He calls her Angel, but has no name himself. He is kind, caring, handsome, and scarred both outside and inside. The more she learns about him, the more she wants to know…and the more she falls in love.

He is unworthy of love unless he can confess, but his secrets are buried deep and to reveal them would be to rip out his soul and lose his Angel. Unfortunately, he is given no say in the matter. Nature has a way of revealing all.

Weekend Book Club: Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts

SHELTER IN PLACE by Nora Roberts is timely, powerful, compelling, and emotional. No one tells a story like Nora Roberts.

BLURB:
It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived.

The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever. In the years that followed, one would dedicate himself to a law enforcement career. Another would close herself off, trying to bury the memory of huddling in a ladies' room, helplessly clutching her cell phone--until she finally found a way to pour her emotions into her art.

But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait--and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

Weekend Book Club--Redson by Laurann Dohner

REDSON is the 10th book in Laurann Dohner's VLG series. This author is a master at the paranormal novel, creating intricate worlds and memorable characters. I think this might be my favorite book in the series so far.

BLURB:

When he enlists the aid of assassins from the Vampire Council, their luck runs out. Forced to separate, Malachi sends Emma to a trusted VampLycan for protection.

Weekend Book Club--Seal Camp by Suzanne Brockmann

I've been a huge fan of Suzanne Brockmann's Tall, Dark and Dangerous series for years. (The original paperbacks are on my "keeper" shelf.) Now she has a new book out in the series!

SEAL CAMP is the 12th book in the series and it was worth the wait.

All your favorite characters are back from Lucky, Joe Cat, Bobby Taylor and his wife Colleen, Thomas King, and Rio Rosetti. I hope this is a sign that there will be more TDD books in the future.

BLURB:

Navy SEAL Lieutenant Jim “Spaceman” Slade’s got a problem. A SEAL Team is only as fast as its slowest member—and right now, thanks to his battered knees—that’s Jim. He reluctantly takes medical leave, but he’s a SEAL, so he spends his “vacation” as an instructor, helping out a former Senior Chief who runs a camp for SEAL wannabes. But to Jim’s shock, he finds himself falling for the one woman attending the camp session—an obviously brilliant but seemingly timid lawyer who is determined to do everything her way, no matter how wrong.

Ashley DeWitt’s got a problem, too. She’s a kickass lawyer, but when it comes to her personal life, she’s a total pushover. When she finds herself hiding behind her condo Dumpster to avoid a confrontation with an ex, she decides enough is enough and signs up for a session at a camp called SEAL World, in hopes she’ll discover how to be more assertive outside of the courtroom. And then she’s assigned to Jim’s team...

When an alpha male—smart, funny, strong, but terrified of a future trapped behind a desk—collides with a smart, funny, and quietly strong woman with a troubled past, sparks fly hot and fast.

Weekend Book Club--The Thief by J.R. Ward

THE THIEF by J.R. Ward is the latest installment in her Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB) series.

Honestly, she's one of the few authors I'll pay the hardcover price for an ebook when it's released. I just can't wait.

THE THIEF delivers everything you want from a BDB book. Sola and Assail's story finally has a conclusion, but in typical Ward fashion, there are more surprises and hints about the stories to come.

BLURB:

Sola Morte, former cat burglar and safecracker, has given up her old life on the wrong side of the law. On the run from a drug lord’s family, she is lying low far from Caldwell, keeping her nose clean and her beloved grandmother safe. Her heart, though, is back up north, with the only man who has ever gotten through her defenses: Assail, son of Assail, who never meant to fall in love—and certainly not with a human woman. But they have no future, and not just because she doesn’t know he is a vampire, but because he is not about to stop dealing arms to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Fate, however, has other plans for them. When Assail falls into a coma and lingers on the verge of death, his cousins seek out Sola and beg her to give him a reason to live. The last thing she wants is a return to her past, but how can she leave him to die?

As a lethal new enemy of the vampires shows its face, and the Brotherhood needs Assail back on his feet, Sola finds herself not only a target, but a mission-critical force in a war she doesn’t understand. And when Assail’s truth comes out, will she run from the horror . . . or follow her heart into the arms of the male who loves her more than life itself?

Weekend Book Club--Arynn's Chosen Mate by Elle Boon

ARYNN'S CHOSEN MATE: BAD ALPHA DADS by Elle Boon is the 8th book in her Iron Wolves MC series.

Elle Boon creates a vivid world filled with dangerous, compelling men and smart, sassy women. There is plenty of heat between Arynn and Sheila, but there is so much heart. Another wonderful addition to her Iron Wolves MC series.

BLURB:

They say blood is thicker than water, but a bond that’s chosen is stronger than steel. Nothing and nobody can sever those that are forged between ones chosen family.

They say love hurts. For a shifter who thinks he’s lost it all, it’s more than just a saying, it’s a reality. When Arynn is finally reunited with his daughter and finds the one woman created just for him, he swears love does hurt, but it’s a feeling he would give his life to experience.

Family is supposed to love and cherish one another. Sheila never had that growing up. When she became a mother of not just her own child, but her twin sister’s as well, she vows to love them more than she’d ever experienced.

When you find love that’s worth fighting for, you grab it and hold on tight. Families don’t always have to be blood, sometimes ones that are chosen are even more special as they are forged in love, instead of duty.

Can Arynn and Sheila along with their two girls finally find peace as a family, or will the darkness from their past destroy the goodness they’re creating?

Warning: Contains a sexy hero who feels EVERYTHING and a heroine who loves him even more. Lots of growly men, a crazy Fey Queen and her wolpires. Oh and HELLBOY. #DONTLOOKDOWN
