Good morning and welcome to Black Friday, traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States. The Friday after Thanksgiving, it kicks off the Christmas shopping season. Many stores will have huge sales and people will start lining up the night before to get a deal.
Why is it called Black Friday? It's the time of year when many retailers go from being in the "red" to being in the "black." So why you may be moaning about crowds and lineups, retailers will be celebrating.
If you're brave enough to venture out to the stores today...good luck!

I'm braving the stores, hopefully it won't be too nuts. *g*
I NEVER go out on Black Friday. I'm very clautrophobic and the crowds give me fits. I do all my Christmas shopping online. I have never understood how some people actually enjoy the rush of so many people fighting over the sales.:-)
Good luck, Charli!
I'm not fond of crowds either, Kathy. I'd rather pay a bit more for something than hit a before Christmas sale. But some folks seem to enjoy it!
