2017--Year in Review

First of all, I want to thank my amazing readers and author friends for making 2017 a wonderful year. You’re support, encouragement, and friendship means so much to me.

You’re the best!

2017 was an up and down year for me career wise.

My main publisher (Samhain Publishing) closed suddenly at the end of February leaving me scrambling to find a home for my books. I am so thankful for Liz Pelletier and the folks at Entangled Publishing for taking all my Samhain books. And a special and huge thanks to Heidi Shoham—one of the best editors in the business.

As a result of Samhain Publishing closing and Entangled taking over my backlist, Wolf in her Soul had two releases this year. The first was in February, when it was available for a week. The second release was in September.

The Dalakis Passion vampire series (a favorite of mine) was rereleased by Beyond the Page Publishing.

And my new Blood of the Drakon series had two books released.

In total I had 4 new releases and 38 rereleases.

2017 Releases

February 8—Coming Home (This novella was originally in the Taming the Alpha boxed set but was rereleased as a single by Beyond the Page.)

February 21—Wolf in her Soul, book 8 of the Salvation Pack series. (Was only out a week when Samhain Publishing closed.)

March 7—Harker’s Journey (The first book in the Dalakis Passion vampire series. This novella was originally released in 2005 by Ellora`s Cave, but was rereleased by Beyond the Page.)

April 24—Drakon’s Prey (Book 2 in the Blood of the Drakon series released by Entangled Publishing.)

May 3—Lucian’s Delight (Book 2 in the Dalakis Passion series rereleased by Beyond the Page.)

June 13—Roadside Assistance (A short story in the Blue Collar-A Boys Behaving Badly Anthology.)

July 3—Drakon’s Plunder (Book 3 in the Blood of the Drakon series released by Entangled Publishing.)

July 20—Stefan’s Salvation (Book 3 in the Dalakis Passion series rereleased by Beyond the Page.)

July 31—Entangled rereleased my entire Samhain Publishing paranormal backlist! This included:

Legacy series: Alexandra’s Legacy, Isaiah’s Haven, Legacy Found, Quinn’s Quest, Finding Chrissten, Damek’s Redemption, and Craig’s Heart.

Hades’ Carnival series: Night of the Tiger, Mark of the Bear, Pride of the Lion, Howl of the Wolf, Heart of the Serpent, Flame of the Phoenix, and Lure of the Jaguar.

Spells, Secrets & Seductions trilogy: A Touch of Magick, Dreams of Seduction, and Love in Flames.

Salvation Pack series: Wolf at the Door, Wolf in her Bed, Wolf on the Run, Wolf from the Past, Wolf on the Hunt, Wolf on a Mission, and Wolf in his Heart.

August 21—Entangled rereleased by Jamesville series: Discovering Dani, The Way Home, The Return of Patrick O’Rourke, The Seduction of Shamus O’Rourke, A Legal Affair, By the Book, and Past Promises. (Previously published by Samhain Publishing.)

September 21—Entangled rereleased Wolf in her Soul, book 8 in the Salvation Pack series.

October 18—Eternal Brothers (Book 4 in the Dalakis Passion series rereleased by Beyond the Page.)

November 30—Endless Chase (The final book in the Dalakis Passion series rereleased by Beyond the Page.)

2018 is starting off with a bang with the release of Drakon’s Past, book 4 in the Blood of the Drakon series, releasing January 29th!

2016 in Review

2016 has been a year of ups and downs in the world and my year has been no different. With the year waning and the new one about to begin, I’d like to focus on some of the great things that happened for me in 2016!

I had 6 older books updated and rereleased.

Beyond the Page rereleased my Summersville Secrets trilogy—Uncovering Annabelle, Enticing Emma, and Lily’s List. They all got new titles and wonderful new covers. Beyond the Page is also contracted to rerelease my Dalakis Passion vampire series in 2016. They’ll all be updated and receive new covers. I’m very excited about this.

Carina Press rereleased the Project Alpha trilogy—Embracing Silence, Assassin’s Awakening, and Alpha’s Revenge. Two of the books got new titles, but all three were updated and got amazing new covers.

I also had three Salvation Pack books released in 2016—Wolf on the Hunt, Wolf on a Mission, and Wolf in his Heart. Look for Wolf in her Soul (Feb 2017) and Wolf of her Own (May 2017). Samhain Publishing also released the three novellas in my Hades’ Carnival series in one volume, both ebook and print.

I also signed with a new publisher in 2016. Entangled Publishing took a chance on my idea for a drakon shapeshifter series and released the first book—Drakon’s Promise—in December 2016. What a wonderful way to end the year! Watch for more drakon books in 2017.

On the personal side of things, I took a trip with my brother. We’re both big baseball fans and I’d never seen a game in person, so we hopped on a plane and flew to Toronto for a long weekend. (I find travel intimidating and never would have done it without him.) We hit the Royal Ontario Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame (we’re big hockey fans too), and Kensington Market. Of course, we saw a baseball game and the Blue Jays won!

It was a whirlwind trip, but I loved every second of it. To cap it off, when we were waiting for a connecting flight, we ran into Daryl Sittler and Lanny McDonald at the airport. We both grew up watching them play for the Toronto Maple Leafs! We got our pictures taken with them. Best trip ever!

I also went on a two-night road trip with my sister. That was more about driving down every back road and stopping at every beach along the way. It was an awesome trip. I loved our time together.

So these are the highlights of my 2016. I have high hopes for 2017. I wish you and your family the best for the coming year.

2014 Year in Review

2014 was a rollercoaster of a year with great ups and downs. Personally, I saw the end of my 30 year relationship. I also dealt with a foot injury that is still bothering me months later. There was also some serious illness in my immediate family, but I'm happy to say that everything turned out well there.

Professionally, I've also had some ups and downs this year, but I'd much rather focus on the positives. In October, I celebrated the release of my 75th book, as well as my tenth year as a published author. I can hardly believe it's been ten years. I want to thank everyone who has ever purchased one of my books for making my dream of being a working writer come true.

The biggest surprise came at the end of the year. Earlier in 2014 I was invited to be a part of a box set with twenty-four other authors. Taming the Alpha is 25 tales across all genres, all having a hot alpha as the hero. It was released on December 9th and made both the USA Today and the NY Times Best Seller Lists. What a Christmas present! I can now put NY Times & USA Today Bestselling Author after my name. I'm thrilled.

In case you missed any of them, here are my releases for 2014.

January 17th--Debt of Honor (EC Quickie)
January 21st--Craig's Heart (Legacy--Book 7)

I also wrote a lot in 2013 and have a brand new werewolf series starting in April 2014 with Samhain Publishing. (The first three books in the series have already been written and contracted.) But first, a new Legacy book, Craig's Heart, will be released on January 21st.

With Ellora's Cave, watch for Debt of Honor (a western Quickie) on January 17th. I also have two more books contracted with EC (contemporary) and will hopefully have dates for them soon.

A New Year Dawns...

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. And while I've been enjoying the Christmas season I've been thinking back over the year that was 2010. It had its ups and its downs, but as I've made it to the end of the year healthy and happy, I'd have to say it was a good one.

Over the past year I've had seven new ebooks released and three print books. It all started in February with the print release of Jamesville Affairs, which contains A Legal Affair and Past Promises (Books 4 and 6 of the Jamesville series).

In March my newest Tapestries book--Embroidered Fantasies--was released. A new Tapestries books is always exciting for me. I adore this series. In April came Seeking Charlotte, a paranormal novella, which was a part of the Hearts of Fire series, though it can be read as a stand-alone book.

Onward to May with the release of my FIRST ever Audio Book. I was thrilled with Ellora's Cave told me that Tempting Tori, a Quickie about one of the Courage brothers of Texas, was going to become an audio book. Very exciting! In July, the next book in the Courage brothers saga, another Quickied entitled Lassoing Lara, was released.

Summer seemed as though it would never arrive this past year. In late June, hubby and I went to a cabin at the seashore for a couple of nights and spent a couple of more nights in a motel in my hometown. But it wasn't exactly warm. I had to go to the local Wal-Mart and buy a coat. It was freezing, but it was nice to get away for a few days.

We came home and the nicer weather finally arrived. We took walks and generally got outside as much as possible. At the same time, August was a big month for me. I had two new releases that month: Isaiah's Haven, the second book in my Legacy werewolf series from Samhain Publishing, and Out of Shadows, my latest Shadow Ryder book from Ellora's Cave. It was also the month where the print version of Alexandra's Legacy, the first book in the Legacy series, was released. Talk about a testosterone overload. LOL Hubby and I also celebrated our 23 wedding anniversary in August. It was a very good month!

September arrived and with it the release of Entwined Hearts, the final book in the Hearts of Fire series. This was a very special book in that it was written by four authors. It wasn't an anthology, but a true collaboration. Nicole Austin, TJ Michaels, Ciana Stone and I all worked on this book. I had a wonderful time working on this series with those very special ladies. It as an experience I'll always remember.

October saw the release of A Touch of Magick from Samhain Publishing. Since the book is about magick and takes place around the Halloween/Samhain holiday I thought it was a very fitting release date. There will be two more books in this trilogy. :)

Sometime in November I found out that Alexandra's Legacy was nominated for an EPIC award. As if that wasn't exciting enough, I discovered Embracing Silence was nominated for an RT Reviewer's Choice Award. That is a dream come true for me and I'm absolutely thrilled by the nomination!

The year wound down with the early December release of the print version of Three Swords, One Heart. This is a favorite book of mine. The heroine is totally kickass. She takes no prisoners, but finds her heart tamed by two brothers.

I've enjoyed taking time off this Christmas. I've haven't been doing anything more strenous than hanging out with family and friends. I'm looking forward to 2011 and all that it brings.

As you ring in the New Year, take a moment to reflect on the year past. Enjoy the pop of the champagne, the excitement of the fireworks and the mountains of good food. Stay safe and have fun!

Happy New Year to you all. May 2011 be the best year yet for us all!
